Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (Assessors Award)

£525* per person

Credits: 9

Entry requirements: You must be able to secure an opportunity which will allow you to carry out two assessments of two learners’ occupational competence (four in total). Simulations are not allowed. You must be occupationally competent and qualified for the qualification you want to assess.

Minimum age: You must be at least 18 years of age to achieve these qualifications.

Delivery: Three one day teaching sessions.

Workplace Observations: Three

Suitable for: Those with no previous assessing experience.

About the course: This course will provide you with the principles and practices of assessment alloying you to carry out assessments of occupational competence in a work environment.

Course Aim:

  1. To assess the learning and development practitioner’s knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of assessment.
  2. To assess a learning and development practitioner’s performance in carrying out assessments of occupational competence in a work environment.

Units include:

  • Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
  • Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment

Assessment: You will be assessed by completing a workbook, portfolio and three assessed assessing observations.

Level 3, Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (Assessors Award)

£525* per person

Credits: 9

Entry requirements: You must be able to secure an opportunity which will allow you to carry out two assessments of two learners’ skills, knowledge and understanding  (four in total). Simulations are not allowed.

Minimum age: You must be at least 18 years of age to achieve this qualification.

Teaching Sessions:  Three one day teaching sessions.

Workplace Observations: Three

Suitable for: Those with no previous teaching experience.

About the course: This course will provide you with the principles and practices of assessment alloying you to carry out the assessment of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding outside of the work environment.

Units include:

  • Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
  • Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding

Assessment: You will be assessed by completing a workbook, portfolio and three assessed assessing observations.

Level 4, Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

£655* per person

Credits: 12

Entry requirements: None

Minimum age: You must be at least 18 years of age to achieve this qualification.

Teaching Sessions:  Four one day teaching sessions

Workplace Observations: You require three workplace observations

Suitable for: Internal quality assurers.

About the course: This course is for those who take responsibility for the internal quality assurance of assessment.

Units include:

  • Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
  • Internally assure the quality of assessment

Assessment: You will be assessment by completing a workbook, portfolio and four assessed observations which allow you to be assessed whilst carrying out the role of an internal quality assurer.

N.B: For all accredited courses, learners’ must complete an initial assessment in literacy, numeracy and ICT. Learners’ This are requirements of the awarding body. Awarding bodies also dictate a minimum age for qualifications.
